Short BioTom Daley entered the media spotlight during the Beijing Olympics, now, at the age of 15 he is preparing himself for the 2012 Olympics and is one of Britain’s greatest hopefuls for a medal. Born on the 21st May 1994 Daley started diving at the tender age of seven and has long been a member of the Plymouth Diving Club. At the 2008 Summer Olympics he was Britain’s youngest competitor where he dived in the 10 metre platform event. Impressively he was the youngest competitor of any nationality outside the sport of swimming. In the most recent post-Rome 2009 World Championships edition of the FINA World Diving Rankings for the ten-metre platform, he reached a new career best ranking of number one.

Tom Daley competed at the 2008 Olympic Games, where he made it to the final of the syncronized 10m platform competition and the individual 10m platform competition. He was the youngest member of TeamGB since 1960, aged just 14! Tom is also the World, European and British Champion!
