Kurt Busch Bio:

Kurt Busch was born on August 4, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada. His father, Tom, was a mechanic and tool dealer from the Chicago area. Tom's father had raced on dirt ovals throughout the Midwest in the post-war years, and he followed in his dad's footsteps. Tom and Kurt's mom, Gaye, moved to Las Vegas in 1972. he continued to race in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Tom won several NASCAR-sanctioned late-model events and a couple of regional titles, and then switched to dwarf cars when NASCAR started handicapping him.

Kurt Busch is one sixth of the team Gillette Young Guns on the reality show Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race on ABC. The show features twelve celebrities who race it out stock car style with the Guns, competing for the win. Among the twelve are Serena Williams, Krista Allen and William Shatner. The show runs for six episodes and is hosted by Kenny Mayne alongside Brad Daugherty.

Kurt Busch's agressive driving style made an immediate impact on NASCAR's top racing circuit. In his second season, Busch won four races and in 2004, he won 14 races and the NASCAR driving title. While Kurt Busch's lightning fast driving has led to sucess on the race track, it's also led to several confrontations with other drivers and NASCAR officials. In 2003, Busch was punched in the face by driver, Jimmy Spencer, after the two bumped each other during a race. Busch has also recevied several penalties from race officials for hitting drivers and breaking other track rules. Kurt Busch switched to a new sponsor at the end of the 2005 race season, which he's hoping will bring both better results on the track in 2006 and a reformed image in the eyes of fans and fellow drivers.
