Short Bio: Albert Pujols was born on January 16, 1980 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Albert and his family immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s and upon his arrival Pujols realized that he loved the game of baseball. Albert loved to play baseball, watch baseball, and even talk about baseball. The game quickly became his passion and practice paid off. In high school Albert was known as a great hitter with a batting average of over .500 his first season, which is undeniably impressive. Unlike a lot of young men, Albert’s passion for baseball didn’t die when he graduated from high school. Instead, Pujols attended Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City. His first season with the community college team proved fruitful, as he hit a grand slam and turned an unassisted triple play! Albert Pujols made his talent, with a batting average of .461 his first year in college.
With a sweet swing and big league power, outfielder Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals has become one of baseball's most feared hitters. Kidzworld checks out the 2005 National League MVP. Since then, Albert Pujols has been a one-man wrecking crew with his bat and has had some of baseball's best pitchers crying to their mommies like little babies. In 2002, Albert became the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit .300 with 30 home runs, 100 runs scored, and 100 RBIs in each of his first two seasons. He also helped the Cardinals get to the World Series in 2004 and 2005. The slugger was named the National League MVP in 2005 as well. In 2006, Pujols contines to dominate on the field, recently getting his 1,000th hit and becoming the second fastest player in history to reach 18 homeruns in a season - amd he's done all this despite a painful back injury.
