Simona Halep Short Bio: Simona Halep (born September 27, 1991) is a world top-50 tennis player playing on the ITF Women's Circuit and the WTA Tour, and is currently the number-two ranked women's tennis player in Romania. Simona Halep is the latest up-and-coming tennis sensation. From Constanta, Romania, she won the Junior French Open Tournament in 2008, aged 16. A year later, in 2009, Halep could only make the second round of the qualifiers in the Senior tournament, losing in three sets to Vitalia Diatchenko.
